A memorial reception is scheduled from 1-4 p.m. Saturday, June 17, at West Main Baptist Church, 1701 W. Main St., for Bobby Frank Walker.

Walker, 74, made the journey home to be with his Lord Jesus and his loved ones who went on before him Tuesday, May 30, 2017.

The reception is come-and-go, and attendees are asked to use the southwest gym entrance.
Bobby was born Oct. 12, 1942, in Cottonwood, the son of J.C. and Alta Margaret (Martin) Walker.

He was a lifelong resident of Artesia and a 1961 graduate of Artesia High School.

Bobby loved being outdoors and was often referred to as “the Mountain Man.” He was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include sons Joseph Walker and wife Donna of Chico, Texas, and David Walker of Odessa, Texas; daughter Shannon Tarbox and husband Timothy of Odessa; sisters Treva Gist of Ruidoso, Vesta Youtsey of Artesia, and Martha Morgan and husband Ed of Brownfield, Texas; and his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Wanda Scott; and grandson Joseph Chance Walker.

Bobby loved his family, and he will be missed.
