Sheriff Mark Cage reports that divers located a deceased male Thursday who was later positively identified as 33-year-old Vincent J. Dominguez of Artesia. The Eddy County Sheriff’s Office Detective Division is continuing to investigate the death, and anyone with potential information is urged to contact Cpt. Matthew Hutchinson or Det. Josh Rodriguez at 575-887-7551.

The ECSO was dispatched around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday to the lake in reference to a missing person and possible drowning. Upon arrival, deputies were advised a male individual who was in the water had submerged and could not be found.

A search was initiated with help from divers with the New Mexico State Police. The Carlsbad Fire Department and Atoka Volunteer Fire Department also assisted with the search, which closed Brantley Lake State Park through its duration.
