Memorial celebration of life services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, at First Baptist Church for Carolyn Jean Culpepper of Artesia and Albuquerque.

Our heavenly father called Culpepper, 56, home Nov. 1, 2015, after a heroic battle with cancer.

She was born May 13, 1959, in Wellington, Texas, to Elizabeth Ann Armstrong and Learvis Culpepper.

She resided in Artesia until June 2, 2015.

Carolyn was indeed one of God’s true angels. She was the most kindhearted, gentle and loving person anyone could ever meet. She had a kind word for everyone she met.

Her spirit was so joyful that no matter what song was playing, she had a dance, whether in the living room or in the aisles at Wal-Mart. God gave her a smile that would light up the world and a love in her heart that would penetrate even the hardest opposition.

She leaves to cherish her memories sisters Helen Culpepper Smith of Oklahoma, and Sandra Ramzy and husband Ron and Elizabeth (Thimbi) Culpepper, both of Albuquerque; brothers Dwayne M. Dickey and wife Bernadette of Albuquerque, Frank M. Dickey and wife Viola of El Paso, Texas, and Robin G. Dickey and wife Lyndy of Tampa, Fla.; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles; godson Tristan Anthony Culpepper; godchildren Aamiyah, Malakah, Jonathan and Mia; and her personal son, Chico, her Chihuahua.

She now reunites in eternity with her mother, Elizabeth Ann Dickey; father Learvis Culpepper; brother Michael Dean Hopkins; and grandfather, Elder Frank James Armstrong.
