The Artesia Quilters Guild will be celebrating the 10th anniversary of their annual exhibit with a reception at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 21 at the Artesia Historical Museum and Art Center. The public is invited to join the quilters for refreshments and enjoy the quilts on display. The exhibit features new works created by guild members, plus a pair of new acquisitions to the museum’s collection. According to a release from Museum Director Nancy Dunn, pictured above, Artesia Quilters Guild members have a reputation for creating unusual works — even traditional patterns and designs are given a fresh twist through untraditional fabrics, embellishments and techniques. Also on display are textile inspired ceramics by Alana Codding and wall hangings that depict landscape scenes.
