Maegan Lemon, a sophomore at Artesia High School, decorates a sugar skull to resemble her face paint Saturday afternoon at the Artesia Historical Museum and Art Center. The museum’s annual event celebrating the Day of the Dead featured a variety of activities for both young and old, from beading to chalk art to custom ornaments, all adorned with grinning calaveras (skulls).
