Former Mayor Phillip Burch, right, shakes hands last week with Bob O’Brien, refinery manager with HollyFrontier, following the signing of a quitclaim deed for a piece of property located along U.S. 285. The land, located just north of Eagle Draw at the site formerly occupied by Wallace Buggy, was donated to the City of Artesia by HollyFrontier. It will be utilized as part of the upcoming First Street beautification and tree-planting project headed by Artesia MainStreet.
