Eddy County Commissioners have postponed a decision to select a redistricting plan for the five Eddy County districts in order to receive public input on the proposed plans.

During yesterday’s commission meeting, Michael Sharp with Research and Polling, the company hired to assist the county with the redistricting, presented commissioners with three redistricting options.

This will be the first time the county has seen a change in district mapping in 10 years, and due to a population increase in two of the districts, those districts will need to be increased in size to ensure equal representation. … For the rest of the story, subscribe in print and on the web.
