Aaron Ortiz holds up his winnings from a $1,000 raffle draw held on Tuesday. Ortiz entered the drawing to support the fundraiser for 16-year-old Lawrence Perez, a blind student trying to raise money for a Braille Sense laptop specially equipped for the blind. Eva Perez, his mother, said that while they didn’t meet their $7,000 goal, the family is very close. Other winners for the raffle include second-prize winner Mary Chavez, third-prize winner Debbie Chavez and fourth-prize winner Regina Mullen. (Ashley Trujillo – Daily Press)
