The Eddy County Board of Commissioners signed a contract with Motorola Solutions Inc. (Motorola) for equipment and services to aide in the completion of the Eddy County Motorola Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition system (MOSCAD) during the regularly scheduled commission meeting Tuesday.

The MOSCAD system provides sophisticated real-time monitoring of all simulcast circuits utilized to dispatch public safety in the county. The system monitors equipment faults and diagnostic error messages at the Dispatch Master Site and five remote RF sites. The system ensures all county communication systems are always available to support protecting the public and will notify the dispatch center immediately of any problems that arise.

The county currently uses other Motorola equipment in their dispatch system and the MOSCAD system directly supports the current system ensuring an added ‘peace of mind’ as the entire system is supplied through one vendor. … For the rest of the story, subscribe in print and on the web.
