The City Council met Tuesday to revisit a request for water, waste water and solid waste services for a family building a home outside of city limits.

The council opted to table the Contract for City Services Connection with Zach and Jessica Simer, for 3311 W. Richey Ave., during the April 12 meeting. The planning committee had not yet discussed whether or not the city would allow applicants not bordering city limits to use the services and wanted an opportunity to do so.

Councilor Raul Rodriquez, a member of the planning committee, said they met last Thursday to hash out the issue.

“It is our recommendation that (applicants) do not have to be contiguous to the city to receive an outside user agreement,” he said. “We support the growth of the city.”
