Battling a life threatening disease can often be one of the most difficult trials of an individual’s life; thankfully for one local resident a group of coworkers have united to provide financial and emotional support.

Frank Connelly, an attorney instructor at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC), has been recovering from Multiple Myeloma, a cancer of plasma cells (a type of white blood cell normally responsible for the production of antibodies). As a cancer survivor, Connelly spent nearly seven months in treatment at the Seattle Cancer Center where he received a lot of Chemotherapy, up to five times the normal amount for most patients battling the disease. Although Connelly is on the path to recovery, the treatment for his illness has left him with a financial burden; a burden his coworkers have decided to help him overcome by hosting a benefit dance in his honor.

“Anybody fighting a disease probably has a financial need and a need for emotional support. So that is the reason we decided to hold the benefit and give him any kind of support we can muster up,” explained co-worker Cary Headrick. … For the rest of the story, subscribe in print and on the web.
