With the final countdown on, the Sons of Thunder – Deans Pyro Team is hard at work making preparations for Artesia’s annual free Fourth of July fireworks show at Jaycee Park.
But with the Chamber of Commerce still $7,000 short of the $35,000 needed to fund the display, this year’s could be the last unless additional donations are acquired. … For the rest of the story, subscribe in print and on the web.
“I know $35,000 sounds like a lot of money,” said Hayley Klein, executive director of the Chamber of Commerce. “But not when you realize that’s only the cost of the fireworks and not the labor, since the team is doing this for free.”
