ARTESIA — Eddy County Sheriff Mark Cage reports the Eddy County Sheriff’s Office (ECSO) has made an arrest in connection with a homicide that occurred Wednesday in Artesia. ECSO deputies were dispatched around 5:20 p.m. Wednesday to 912 E. Mill Road in reference to a male subject who was unconscious and not breathing. Upon arrival at the scene, EMS professionals determined the man – identified as Isidoro Luis Sanchez, 33, of Artesia – was deceased.

Further investigation revealed Sanchez had sustained a gunshot wound, and ECSO detectives were contacted to investigate the incident.
