An employee of Fenn’s Country Market was robbed this morning (Friday, Jan. 25) while leaving the store with a deposit, and police are still searching for the suspect.

Artesia Police Department officers were dispatched at 9:39 a.m. today to Fenn’s in reference to the crime. Investigation revealed an undisclosed amount of money was taken from an employee by “the use of force or threatened force.”

The male suspect was described to police, who have been searching for him, but as of press time, the individual remained at large. Cmdr. Lindell Smith of the APD says the public is not believed to be in any danger.

“Some physical evidence was located and seized by officers,” Smith said. “Detectives continue to gather testimonial evidence concerning the incident.”

No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
