Jane Melton, 64, former resident, passed away Thursday, May 3, 2018, in Carlsbad.

She was born May 1, 1954, in Milwaukee, Wisc., and attended Mother of Perpetual Help, graduating from Madonna High School in Milwaukee. She graduated from MATC in Wisconsin and later earned a Bachelor of Science in Social Work from the University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee.

Jane worked at St. Luke’s Hospital in Milwaukee for 25 years before moving to Carlsbad in 2001, where she began work for Carlsbad Physical Therapy.

She lived in Las Cruces for several years working for Sagecrest Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and most recently worked for Artesia General Hospital.

Jane enjoyed bicycling, swimming and gardening.

Survivors include brother Terry Melton and several cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Addison and Lillian Marie (Normoyle) Melton; and brother Todd Melton.

At her request, no public services will be held; ennichement will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery in Milwaukee.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 1856, Clovis, N.M., 88101.
