Lucille Goodlander

Memorial services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, April 22, in the First Christian Church parlor for Lucille F. Goodlander.

Goodlander, 89, passed away Thursday, April 6, 2017.

Final interment of her cremated remains will occur at a later date in Northwest Indiana.

Lucille was born Feb. 25, 1928, in Alamogordo.

On Aug. 6, 1945, she married Gerald Goodlander I.

Following World War II, the couple settled in Gerald’s home area of Northwest Indiana. After 58 years of marriage and Gerald’s death in 2004, Lucille returned to Southern New Mexico, where she lived until her passing.

Her favorite things included playing cards with her friends at the Senior Center, enjoying the flowers in her yard, country music, and spending time with her family.

Survivors include son Jim Goodlander and wife Milda of Edgewood; brother Frank Campbell of Cloudcroft; sister Joann Stickle of Canton, Ohio; grandchildren Gerald III and Jason Goodlander, both of Indiana, Justin Truitt of Oklahoma, and Elizabeth Truitt and Robert Goodlander, both of New Mexico; and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, cousins, and beloved friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Goodlander, in 2004; her parents, Jeff and Fannie Campbell; sister Marjorie Boyse; eldest son Gerald II; youngest son Jeff; and grandson Michael.
