Another candidate for Artesia City Council has thrown his hat into the ring in the upcoming municipal election, and his name is likely to sound familiar.
Manuel Madrid Jr., whose father was the late Mayor Manuel Madrid, has declared his candidacy as a write-in candidate for the District 1 seat in the March 6 Artesia Municipal Election. … For the rest of the story, subscribe in print and on the web.
“I know it’s going to be difficult to win as a write-in, but it’s not impossible,” Madrid said. “It will be an uphill battle, but I believe it’s important and it’s something I really want to do.”
