Maria ‘Nana’ Gurule’

A rosary is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Thursday, July 28, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Maria “Nana” Gurule’.

Gurule’, 46, passed away July 4, 2016, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas.

She was born Nov. 22, 1969, in Albuquerque, the daughter of Albert and Juanita (Chavez) Gurule’. She was a resident of Albuquerque, returning to Artesia in June.

Maria was a homemaker who loved spending time with her children and great-nieces.

Survivors include her parents, Albert Gurule’ of Albuquerque and Juanita Gurule’ of Artesia; sons Jenicio Adame of El Paso, Texas, and Ruben Apodaca of Artesia; daughter Maria Rodriguez of Ft. Worth, Texas; sisters Rosie Armenta of San Jose, Calif., and Sonia Baeza of Artesia; and nieces and nephews Vanessa Baeza, Andres Baeza, Alonzo Baeza, Gilbert Armenta, Diego Armenta, Angelica Armenta, Tiffany Heuze and Crystal Howard.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Ruben Vega.
