Members of Guardians of the Children, the Artesia Advocacy Center, and the Artesia Drug & Crime Coalition join Mayor Phillip Burch as he reads a proclamation declaring the month of April as Child Abuse Prevention Month in Artesia. “Whereas it is disturbing to learn that more than 3 million children are reported abused and neglected in the United States each year and it is every responsible citizen’s duty to report child abuse or neglect to the appropriate authorities, I do hereby proclaim April 2016 as Child Abuse Prevention Month,” said Burch.
