Graveside services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 20, at Hagerman Cemetery for Muriel Jane “Roach” Green of Hagerman.

Green, 88, passed away peacefully Thursday, Nov. 16, 2017, at her home in Hagerman.
Rev. Stephen Deutsch will officiate the services.

Muriel was born March 26, 1929, in Roswell, the daughter of John C. and Sue Belle (Ritter) Roach. She graduated from Artesia High School in 1947.

On Oct. 30, 1947, she married Barney Green, and the couple operated a grocery store in Artesia until 1952, when they moved to Hagerman and began to farm.

Muriel was a member of the First United Methodist Church, serving by teaching Sunday School classes and helping with vacation Bible schools, cooking, decorating, and in many other ways. In her later years, she attended and supported the Presbyterian church in Hagerman.

Survivors include daughter Pam Angell of Lovington; son Harold Green and wife Gambra of Artesia; grandchildren Ross Angell of Bixby, Okla., Bill Angell and wife Kendra of Lovington, Taylor Green and wife Kara of Hope, Kans., and Meghan Green of Ft. Worth, Texas; and great-grandchildren Sarah, Ryan, Trippton, Paxtyn and Tristan.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Barney Green; her parents; one brother; and three sisters.

The family is extremely grateful to her long-term caregivers, Marie Magby and Tammy Magby, as well as to Kindred Hospice, which graciously ministered in her illness.
