The Department of Health on Sunday reported thirteen additional deaths in New Mexico related to COVID-19:
• A male in his 50s from Bernalillo County. The individual was hospitalized and had underlying conditions.
• A male in his 80s from Bernalillo County. The individual had underlying conditions and was a resident of the Princeton Place facility in Albuquerque.
• A second male in his 80s from Bernalillo County. The individual was hospitalized and had underlying conditions.
• A female in her 60s from Colfax County. The individual was hospitalized and had underlying conditions.
• A female in her 70s from Doña Ana County. The individual was hospitalized and had underlying conditions. The individual was a resident of the Calibre Sagecrest Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Las Cruces.
• A female in her 60s from Lea County. The individual was hospitalized.
• A male in his 70s from Lea County. The individual was hospitalized and had underlying conditions. The individual was a resident of the Desert Springs Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Hobbs.
• A female in her 30s from McKinley County. The individual was hospitalized and had underlying conditions.
• A female in her 60s from Otero County. The individual was hospitalized.
• A male in his 70s from Sandoval County. The individual was a resident of The Suites at Rio Vista facility in Rio Rancho.
• A female in her 40s from San Juan County. The individual was hospitalized and was a resident of the Aztec Healthcare facility in Aztec.
• A male in his 80s from San Juan County. The individual was hospitalized and had underlying conditions. The individual was a resident of the Aztec Healthcare facility in Aztec.
• A male in his 80s from Taos County. The individual was a resident of the Taos Living Center in Taos.
The number of deaths of New Mexico residents related to COVID-19 is now 1,540.

Previously reported numbers included three cases that have been identified as duplicates (two in Bernalillo County, one in Valencia County) and five cases that were not lab confirmed (four in Bernalillo County, one in Santa Fe County) – these have now been corrected. One case previously reported in Union County has been determined to be among NMCD inmates at the Northeast New Mexico Correctional Facility in Union County and is now reported as such. One case previously reported among NMCD inmates at the Western New Mexico Correctional Facility in Cibola County has been corrected to be reported in Cibola County. Two cases previously reported among NMCD inmates at the Otero County Prison Facility have been corrected to be reported in Otero County. Including the above newly reported cases, New Mexico has now had a total of 95,417 COVID-19 cases:

As of today, there are 919 individuals hospitalized in New Mexico for COVID-19. This number may include individuals who tested positive for COVID-19 out of state but are currently hospitalized in New Mexico. This number does not include New Mexicans who tested positive for COVID-19 and may have been transferred to a hospital out of state.
As of today, there are 32,050 COVID-19 cases designated as having recovered by the New Mexico Department of Health.
The Department of Health has identified at least one positive COVID-19 case in residents and/or staff in the past 28 days at the following long-term care facilities in Eddy County: Artesia Healthcare and Rehabilitation, Good Life Senior Living in Artesia, Good Life Senior Living in Carlsbad, Lakeview Christian Home in Carlsbad and Landsun Unit of Lakeview Christian Home in Carlsbad.

The Department of Health has detected community spread in the state of New Mexico and is investigating cases with no known exposure. The agency reports that given the infectious nature of the virus it is likely other residents are infected but yet to be tested or confirmed positive. To that end, all New Mexicans have been instructed to stay home except for outings absolutely necessary for health, safety and welfare. These additional restrictions have been enacted to aggressively minimize person-to-person contact and ensure spread is mitigated. New Mexicans are strongly urged to limit travel to only what is necessary for health, safety and welfare.
The New Mexico Department of Health has active investigations into the positive patients, which includes contact-tracing and swabs of symptomatic individuals who have had contact with the positive cases.
Every New Mexican must work together to stem the spread of COVID-19. Stay home, especially if you are sick. Wear a mask or face covering when in public and around others.
