Artesia Police Department officers respond to the scene of a one-vehicle rollover Saturday along Eagle Draw. According to the APD, the accident occurred at approximately 2:55 p.m. when the 17-year-old male driver of a 2007 Mazda skidded while headed east on Mahone Drive, struck the curb, slid 70 feet, rolled once, and came to rest against a tree. The driver sustained cuts and three broken ribs and was transported to Artesia General Hospital by ambulance. The cause of the wreck was determined to be excessive speed. Alcohol was not a factor.
