
Volunteers seek to help needy children worldwide

Who would have thought that a bar of soap, a pair of socks and a box of candy could make for a great Christmas present?
The individuals at the international Christian Relief Organization Samaritan’s Purse did when they started Operation Christmas Child.
While most families are busy preparing for holiday activities, groups of volunteers – including a local group of volunteers – are focused on filling empty shoe boxes with a variety of objects for needy children overseas.
These volunteers are families and churches who are participating in Operation Christmas Child, a project of Samaritan’s Purse, which has delivered 86 million gifts to kids worldwide since 1993.
