The Artesia Downtown Lions sponsored the Zia Intermediate School art class in their annual peace poster contest. The contest is an opportunity for the Lions Club to work with youth in the community to stress the importance of peace, tolerance and international understanding. The theme this year was “Children Know Peace.” The winning poster, by Julia Wortley, was sent off for judging at the district level.
