A memorial service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 1, at Cornerstone Fellowship for Peggy J. White of Artesia.

White, 90, passed away on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at her home.

Gerald Burns will offi ciate at the services.

Visitation will be held until 8 p.m. today at Terpening & Son Mortuary.

Peggy was born on May 11, 1928 in Cross Plains, Texas; the daughter of Nathan E. Oliver and Opal Grace Mitchell Oliver.

She was married to Billy Keith White in California. She came to Artesia in 1961 from Lovington.

She was offi ce manager for Guy Chevrolet for many years until her retirement. Peggy started prayer meetings in her home in 1962 and later started Cornerstone Fellowship where she was the Pastor for many years.

Survivors include her son; Keith White of Artesia; daughters Sheryl Ison of Brownfi eld, Texas, Cindy Hammett and husband Brent of Artesia; grandchildren Stacey Reid and husband Michael, John Paul Hammett, Sarah Beth Bender and husband Robert, Joel Ison and wife Jamy, and Jessica White; great-grandchildren Ben, Nathan and Hayden Reid.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Keith White on July 28, 1961; her parents; and brother John Randall Oliver.

Arrangements are under the direction of Terpening & Son Mortuary.
