I would like to give my endorsement to Royce Pearson of Artesia, N.M., for the Eddy County Commissioner position.
As the full time chaplain at Lea County Correctional Facility in Hobbs, N.M., it has been my pleasure to have Royce serve as one of our religious volunteers for over 10 years. Royce has been involved in the Kairos Prison Ministry here at Lea County Correctional Facility for the 11 years that I have served as chaplain.
Royce has directed this program twice during that time. He and other prison volunteers donate numerous hours each month mentoring and working with the inmates by letting them know that they are not alone and God can change their lives. Royce has a genuine heart for these men.
I believe that Royce has brought that same concern and compassion to the residents of Eddy County during his term as County Commissioner. I fully support Royce as he seeks another term as Eddy County Commissioner.
