TO THE EDITOR:

The Artesia Desk & Derrick Club would like to say THANK YOU for all the support we received on the 18th Annual Desk & Derrick Golf Scramble that was held at the Artesia Country Club on May 14, 2016.

Our club’s motto is Greater Knowledge – Greater Service. Our purpose is to education our members about the oil, gas and allied industries making it possible for them to provide better service for their employers. This golf scramble helps our organization raise funds for various educational projects within our community and an opportunity to provide an annual scholarship to local high school graduates. We appreciate the fact that our sponsors recognize this and we thank them for it.

The golf scramble was a huge success because of the generosity of our sponsors: Holly Frontier, Yates Petroleum, Chase Foundation, Concho, Santo Petroleum, Western Bank, Talon LPE, Mr. Electric of Roswell/Carlsbad, Holly Energy Partners, Central Valley Electric, Buffalo Oilfield, NAPA Auto Parts, Forrest Tire, Guy Chevrolet, J.S. Ward & Son, Sproles Woodard LLP and L & R Well Service.

Thank you to the Artesia Chamber of Commerce, Western Bank, JS Ward, Artesia Credit Union, Bryan Printers and Holly Frontier, Light Tower Rentals, JS Ward and Son and Western Bank for their donations towards the goody bags. We do not want to forget our appreciation to Juan Jimenez (Golf Pro) and the Artesia Country Club staff for their hard work and efforts to make our event a success.

Congratulations to all the winners and thank you to all the participants in this year’s golf scramble. We hope you enjoyed the tournament and look forward to seeing you at next year’s event.

Andrea McGarrah
Artesia Desk & Derrick Club President
