TO THE EDITOR:
I don’t have a horse in the fight, like my dad used to say, in the campaigns for county commissioner. I was just going to wait until my wife told me who to vote for.
One of the letters to the editor last week has my mind made up, though.
Everything I read up until then was from people being supportive of their candidate and telling others why they should choose him. The letter in Tuesday’s newspaper was like one of those “attack ads” on TV, though. You know they’re coming during a big election, but that kind of stuff shouldn’t have a place in little local elections. We’re all supposed to be on the same side and no hard feelings when it’s all over.
Trashing one of the candidates in the newspaper isn’t productive. It doesn’t represent what I want to see from the people who “work for me” in politics.
I’ll vote for Royce Pearson.
