TO THE EDITOR:

Many of you know that On the Move has a vision of a Homeless Camp in Artesia. It would require cooperation from the entire City of Champions to make it a reality. Because there is no camp, recently there have been homeless or temporarily displaced individuals who have required several days of monetary support, and On the Move has had to ask others to help by paying for hotel rooms and providing food.

I am blessed beyond measure at the response from so many. Thanks go out to the following: Catalyst Church, Trinity Temple, Harvest Fellowship, First Baptist Church, Artesia Emergency Relief, Tate Branch, the Shell and Nelson families, Sandy Tevis, Chaos Cafe, Legacy Inn, and Brenda at Legacy Inn.

I hope I have not failed to mention anyone, but if I did, please accept my apologies and know that you, too, are appreciated.

If you have questions and are interested in knowing more about a camp in Artesia, please feel free to contact me. We have a plan and would love to share it with you… With knowledge comes understanding.

On the Move Chairperson
