TO THE EDITOR:

I would like to recommend Mr. Larry Wood for the position of Eddy County Commissioner.

As the chaplain at Lea County Correctional Facility in Hobbs, N.M., it has been my privilege to have known Larry for over 11 years. He and his wife Lynette are involved in the Christian program known as Kairos. This is a program where volunteers, like Larry, spend about 70 hours twice a year over a four-day period with 42 inmates.

Throughout the years, they have dedicated countless hours to helping their fellow man. They work closely with these inmates helping them learn that they can become productive members of society by following God’s commandments.

Larry, who once served as a judge with the Artesia Magistrate Court, has a special understanding of these inmates. I believe that Larry will bring that same compassion for the needs of people and the desire to make their lives better to the citizens of Eddy County.

Sincerely yours,
Wayne Brazil, Chaplain
Lea County Correctional Facility, Hobbs
