ARRESTS

12:32 p.m. – Christopher S. Montes, 36, of Artesia, arrested and charged with failure to pay fines.

5:28 p.m. – Joseph D. Fuentes, 19, of Artesia, arrested and charged with criminal damage to property.

6:09 p.m. – Eva M. Linares, 35, of Artesia, arrested and charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance.

6:51 p.m. – John M. Esquibel, 39, of Artesia, arrested and charged with violation of conditions of probation.

8:54 a.m. – Officer dispatched to the 100 block of South 12th Street in reference to an unattended death.

Charges of battery against a household member dismissed without prejudice against Joaquin Ibanez, 23, of Artesia.

Jason W. Phillips, 43, of Artesia, bound over to district court after waiving a preliminary hearing on a charges of aggravated battery against a household member with a deadly weapon inflicting great bodily harm.

Arturo Moreno—Rivas, 28, of Artesia, found guilty of DWI (first offense) and failure to maintain traffic lanes. Sentenced to 24 hours of community service and 364 days of supervised probation, and ordered to complete DWI school, alcohol screening, and one year of ignition interlock. Total fines and fees $612.

Cristian Marban Tafoya, 21, of Artesia, found guilty of battery upon a household member. Sentenced to 728 days of supervised probation and one year in the Batterers’ Intervention Program. Total fines and fees $123.

Charges of driving on a revoked license dismissed against Anna Phillips, 29, of Artesia.

Charges of resisting, evading or obstructing an officer dismissed against David Rodriguez Mendez, 40, of Artesia.

Ruben Jaramillo Jr., 23, of Dexter, bound over to district court after waiving a preliminary hearing on charges of breaking and entering and criminal damage to property over $1,000.

Charges of battery upon a household member dismissed against Cruz Munoz, 22, of Artesia.

Charges of battery upon a household member dismissed against Timothy Hoerath, 37, of Artesia.

David G. Hammond, 50, of Artesia, scheduled to appear for pretrial conference Sept. 23 on charges of two counts of resisting, evading or obstructing an officer.

Echo Derrick, 30, of Artesia, scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing Sept. 2 on charges of possession of a controlled substance, to wit: methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance, to wit: heroin, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Robert Trueblood, 28, of Artesia, scheduled to appear for pretrial conference Sept. 30 on charges of battery upon a household member and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Christopher B. Huerta, 44, of Artesia, scheduled to appear for pretrial conference Sept. 30 on charges of battery upon a household member.

Joe D. Munoz, 58, of Artesia, scheduled to appear for pretrial conference Sept. 23 on a charge of resisting, evading or obstructing an officer.
