The Roswell Police Department is asking for help in locating a 30-year-old man charged with the rape of a 14-year-old girl.

Edgar Ruelas is 5-foot-7-inches tall and has brown eyes and black hair. His residence is listed in Roswell, but he has been working for an oilfield service company in Artesia. According to police, he is on the run.

Detectives have obtained a warrant charging Ruelas with criminal sexual penetration of a minor. Law enforcement officials believe he is a Mexican national illegally in the U.S.
