The Walker Aviation Museum Foundation has established a GoFundMe campaign to raise $250,000 in hopes it can relocate to downtown Roswell and expand by early 2017.
Public or corporate support of the campaign will provide funds to pay rent or for the purchase of a larger building; remodel the new location; build new displays; provide interactive displays; hire a professional museum director; and, most importantly, educate and inspire America’s youth to pursue careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM).
The museum will tell Roswell’s “other” story about the people, aircraft, missiles and military mission that were part of Walker Air Force Base from 1942-67. By providing this history and hands-on STEM displays, visiting youth will be encouraged to entertain a career in the aerospace industry. Many aviation-related career opportunities are located in Roswell.

“A centrally-located Walker Aviation and STEM Museum is a ‘win-win’ for Roswell, visitors, and the youth of America,” the foundation said in a release.
