ARTESIA — The Written in Red Foundation is hosting an online fundraiser to aid food pantries in Artesia.

“Due to the COVID-19 pandemic as well as struggles in our local economy, we want to help our local food pantries keep their shelves stocked with food and household items as well as be able to help citizens who are behind on their rent, utilities, or medical care,” the foundation said in a statement.

Written in Red will be matching all funds donated up to $10,000. In addition, the foundation has asked the Chase Foundation, Terry Lynn Chandler Foundation, and Estelle Yates Foundation to join them in this endeavor; all have agreed to match donated funds up to $10,000 as well.

The total amount raised will be divided equally between the following food pantries: St. Vincent de Paul Society Food Pantry, Trinity Temple Food Pantry, Artesia Emergency Relief, and FUMC Food Pantry.

Anyone wishing to make a donation may do so at www.writteninredfoundation.com-simply by clicking on the “DONATE” heading or by sending a check to: Written in Red Foundation, 505 W. Main St., Artesia, N.M., 88210. Include “Food Pantry Fundraiser” in the memo line.

Donations will be accepted until May 31.
