SANTA FE -- A total of 630 deer licenses left over from the 2024-25 big-game draw will go on sale at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 26, through the New Mexico Department of Game and Fish’s Online License System.

Ruidoso Downs takes entries for Futurity trials

RUIDOSO DOWNS -- Entries have been taken and processed for trials next weekend for the $1-million Rainbow Futurity at Ruidoso Downs Race Track. “We are proceeding with making plans as scheduled,” General Manager Rick Baugh said.

Bulldog Bowl undergoing upgrades

Bulldog Bowl has been undergoing a few upgrades in preparation for the 2024 season. At left, crews work to replace the stadium’s light fixtures with new-and-improved (and brighter!) lights that will also offer up a few surprises for fans when the ‘Dogs score that first TD of the new season. Below, the east parking lot is also coming up in preparation for a much-needed re-pave.

Miss Hi Tide wins Mountain Top Derby

RUIDOSO DOWNS -- Miss Hi Tide and jockey Adrian Ramos overcame a rough beginning to win the $175,258 Mountain Top Derby for 3-year-old New Mexico-bred quarter horses Saturday at Ruidoso Downs Race Track.
