Eddy County Fair officials, along with representatives of Artesia and Eddy County, pause for a photo before cutting the ribbon officially signifying the opening of the 72nd Annual Eddy County Fair Monday evening at the Eddy County Fairgrounds. The fair will continue through Saturday with a full slate of youth livestock shows and other events. The exhibit buildings are open to the public till 9 p.m., and of course, residents will want to head out to sample the ever-popular fair food. Keep an eye on the front page of each day’s Daily Press for a schedule of that evening and the next day’s events. Residents are also reminded that the intersection of 13th Street and Hermosa Drive is inaccessible, meaning motorists will have to travel east to First Street or west to 26th Street to reach Fairgrounds Road.
