The Artesia Public Schools (APS) announced this afternoon that it will continue to serve free meals to local youth during the summer months.

Breakfast and lunch will be available to children ages 18 and under. Grab-and-go meals will be distributed on Mondays only; children will be given five breakfasts and five lunches at one time. Children must be present to receive meals.

Distribution will be held from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Mondays — beginning June 1 and continuing through Aug. 7 — at Grand Heights Early Childhood Center and all five elementary schools: Central, Hermosa, Roselawn, Yeso and Yucca.

“We want to again express our gratitude to our cafeteria workers for graciously stepping up and providing meals to our students,” the APS said in a statement. “We are fortunate to have such caring and dedicated employees.”
