Two arrests have been made in the case of a semi truck stolen from an area oilfield company.

Eddy County Sheriff’s Office (ECSO) Chief Deputy Mark Cage reports that following several weeks of investigation, ECSO detectives arrested Kile Price of Carlsbad and his juvenile accomplice for the theft of a Key Energy Services eighteen-wheeler valued at $157,000.

Price and the same juvenile gained access to the vehicle May 22 on a lease location and drove it throughout the county. It was recovered in a field the following day by deputies. The two were also charged with criminal damage to property over $1,000, as they damaged items in the vehicle while attempting to steal it.

As a result of the investigation, Price became a prime suspect in other oilfield-related crimes that have been reported to the ECSO. He was subsequently charged with the theft of more than $500 worth of red dye diesel that occurred in early June.
