Graveside services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday, April 29, at Bryan City Cemetery in Bryan, Texas, for Billie Ruth Williams.

Williams, 86, passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2016, at St. Joseph Manor in Bryan.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. today at the Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan.

Billie Ruth was born June 29, 1929, in Lockney, Texas, the daughter of Johnie E. and Audrey (Lyles) Williams. She graduated from Portales High School and Eastern New Mexico University.

She worked at the Clovis Air Base, then spent most of her career as office manager for Yates Petroleum in Artesia. During retirement, she resided in Ruidoso, Deleon, Hill Top and Bryan, Texas.

Billie Ruth enjoyed horses, dogs, woodworking and firearms. She taught each niece and nephew how to shoot. She was affectionately known by her family as our Favorite Sweet Old Maid Aunt, Dear Aunt Billie, Granny Billie, and Granny Grunt.

Survivors include her sister, Johnnie Mae Pearson, of Bryan; 13 nieces and nephews; and other family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Dorothy Hinderliter and Margie Barton; and brothers Bobby Williams and Ted Williams.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Still Creek Ranch, 6055 Hearne Road, Bryan, TX, 77808.
