Services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, April 30, at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel in San Angelo, Texas, for Coburn “Coby” Lewis Sr. of San Angelo.

Lewis, 70, passed away April 23, 2016, at his home in San Angelo.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Robert Massie Funeral Home. Interment will take place at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 1, at Cienega Cemetery in Dell City, Texas.

Coburn was born June 10, 1945, to David Eugene and Pearl Lela (Prather) Lewis and grew up on the Otero Mesa.

On June 27, 1970, he married the love of his life, Karla Ann Benton.

At the age of 17, he went to work for Security Bank and Trust in Alamogordo. This was the beginning of his working with computers for at least 50 years. He retired from the City of San Angelo on July 31, 2014, after 19 years and four months of service.

Coburn loved piano music and was a dang good piano player. He was always so much fun, and people loved to be around him and spend time with him. He enjoyed making people laugh. He was a certified nurse assistant. He had a very charitable heart and always got personally involved with people’s lives.

Survivors include his three children, Shawna Anne Lewis, Coburn Lewis Jr., and Jeffery William Lewis and wife Michelle; four grandchildren, Matthew, whom he raised from the age of 4, Jacob, Madison and Jordyn; two brothers, Innis Lewis of Otero Mesa and Arden Lewis and wife Twyla of Pinon; sister-in-law Kayla Moseler of San Angelo; three nephews; and two nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Kendal Lewis; and two sister, Pricilla Nell (Lewis) Moore and Marsha Tenley Lewis.
