McGee, 70, passed away July 22, 2016, at his home.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Terpening & Son Mortuary.
Buck was born July 5, 1946, the son of James and Opal (November) McGee. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and came to Artesia in February 1994 from Hobbs.
He was a driller in the oilfield.
Survivors include his son, Scooter McGee, of Socorro; and sisters Peggy Mae Gafford of Phoenix, Ariz., Dolly Elanore Powell of Houston, Texas, and Thelma Nadine Weber of Redondo Beach, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Alvis and Opal (November) McGee; sisters Opal Naomi Head, Mary Martha Etter and Maida Ellen Alexander; and brothers Bert Vernon McGee, Joe Tom McGee, Jim McGee and Jay Elmer McGee.
