Childress, 63, passed away July 26, 2016, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Terpening & Son Mortuary. Her desire was to be buried by her father in North Dakota.
Marcia was born April 16, 1953, in Minot, N.D., the daughter of Al and Delores (Grundahl) Stredwick.
On April 12, 1974, she married Pat Childress in Minot, and the couple came to Artesia in 1977 from Roswell.
She was a bookkeeper for Sierra Security and a member of the Lutheran Church and the Winged Riders Motorcycle Club. Her hobbies included NASCAR races, fishing and camping, riding her trike, and her dog, Harley.
Survivors include her husband, Pat Childress, of Artesia; sons Cutter Childress and wife Charity of Artesia and Shelby Childress and wife Jaime of Whitehouse, Texas; daughter Arley Childress and fiancé Jimmy Burnside of Artesia; brothers David Stredwick and wife Melissa of Dallas, Texas, Terry Stredwick of Portland, Ore., and Shawn Stredwick of Minot; sister Kathy Becker and husband Jim; and grandchildren Jimmy Burnside Jr., Tharyn Carroll, Chris Burnside, Kade Green, Makenzie Green, Ryan Young, Jadian Childress, Roper Childress, Kyran Childress, Airyen Childress and Stormy Childress.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Daryl Stredwick.
