Huerta

Graveside services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 28, at Woodbine Cemetery for Erlinda Brizeno Huerta of Artesia.

Huerta, 88, passed away Thursday, April 16, 2020, at her daughter’s home in Albuquerque.

Pallbearers will be Matthew Salas, Jaden Bratcher, Rodney Salsberry, Rudy Florez, Mike Brizeno, Pablo Brizeno and Domingo Dominguez.

Erlinda was born Sept. 22, 1931, in Artesia to Florencio and Jesusita (Cardenas) Brizeno.

On June 2, 1947, she married Agapito Huerta in Artesia.

She was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church and enjoyed cooking and spending time with all of her family.

Survivors include sons Raymond Huerta and wife Lisa, Christopher Huerta and wife Linda, and Robert Huerta, all of Artesia; daughters Frances Perez and husband Jose of Roswell, Rosa Salas of Albuquerque, Nancy Franco and husband Joe of Artesia, and Hope Huerta of Albuquerque; brothers Benito Brizeno of Sparta, Wisc., and Paul Brizeno and wife Imelda of Edgewood; sisters Ricky Salsberry and husband Eloy, and Mickey Flores and husband Freddy, both of Artesia, and Marcelina Brizeno of Roswell; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Agapito, on Dec. 16, 1989; her parents; sons Roy Huerta and Johnny Huerta; daughter Sara Huerta; grandson Michael Salas; granddaughter Bianca Sosa; sister Rita Dominguez; and brothers Juan Brizeno, Jim Brizeno, Raymundo Cardenas, Tony Cardenas and Frank Brizeno.
