Lucinda Garcia, 87, of Artesia, passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2020, in Lubbock, Texas, surrounded by her family.

Services were held Friday, March 20, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. Pallbearers were her granddaughters, Cynthia Aranda, Clarissa Franco, Angela Jimenez, Jennifer Jimenez, Melissa Alvarado, Michelle Alvarado, Dianne Rodriguez, Samantha Fernandez, Danielle Castleberry, Jackie Garcia and Jocelyn Trujillo.

Lucinda was born May 5, 1932, in Roswell to Daniel and Anita Lucero.

On Dec. 5, 1954, she married Felix, and the couple had five daughters and one son.

Survivors include daughters Louisa Aranda, Teri Franco and husband Raul, Rosa Jimenez and husband Raymond, Carolina Rodriguez and husband Pete, and Anita “Beatle” Brewer and husband David; son Felix “Boy” Jr. and wife Mary; 19 grandchildren; 63 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; sisters Leticia, Amelia and Julia; brother Danny; and numerous nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Felix “Chino”; mother Anita; father Daniel; brother Salomon; sisters Beatrice, Elisa, Stella and Sofia; brother Rudy; and grandson Joseph Jimenez.

Lucinda “Lucy” will be greatly missed by all family and friends.
