Services are scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Saturday, May 28, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Hilardo V. Juarez of Artesia.

Juarez, 88, beloved grandfather, father, husband, brother and great-grandfather, was called to his eternal resting place May 25, 2016.

Fr. Martin Cornejo will officiate at the services. Pallbearers will be Israel Juarez, Daniel Juarez, Marcos Juarez Sr., Marcos Juarez Jr., Ricardo Juarez, Joseph Briseno, Salvador Briseno, Gabriel Briseno, Michael Briseno and Jose Juarez Jr.

Visitation will be held till 4 p.m. today at Terpening & Son Mortuary.

Hilardo entered this world Nov. 1, 1927, in Presidio, Texas, born to Tobias and Albina (Valenzuela) Juarez.

In 1950, he married Eloisa Navarette in Presidio.

He served in the United States Army during World War II.

Hilardo was a construction worker and a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. He was involved in Cursillistas, and he loved people and had a great sense of humor.

Survivors include daughters Grace Arnold of Artesia, Virginia Villalva of San Antonio, Texas, Rosa Briseno of Clovis, and Delia Briseno of Dumas, Texas; sons Hilardo Juarez Jr. of Artesia, Raymond Juarez of Hobbs, Richard Juarez of Albuquerque, Paul Juarez of Artesia, and Jose Luis Juarez and Francisco Juarez, both of Santa Fe; sister Hortensia Hendrix of Houston, Texas; 30 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Eloisa Juarez, on Dec. 12, 1982; his parents; two brothers; two sisters; and one granddaughter.
