“Honoring Artesia’s Veterans” will open at the Artesia Historical Museum and Art Center with a reception Friday Nov. 10, following the Baish Veterans’ Park program.

The exhibit will continue to run through Saturday, Nov. 25, and the museum will stay open during the lunch hour on Veterans’ Day.

This year, we will commemorate the centennial of the United States entering World War I with an exhibit of memorabilia from the museum’s collection.

In addition, we will display our photo Wall of Honor. The museum is asking the public for photographs of their veterans to display on the Wall — photos should be of current or former residents of Artesia who served in the military, in uniform.

We have had wonderful responses to our previous requests — all photographs submitted previously are included in this year’s show, BUT we do know that not everyone had time to get their photos ready! The museum can copy your original photo and return it to you, or you can submit a copy — we prefer 4×5 or 5×7, please! For more information, call 575-748-2390.

Also note, donations for our reception or veteran thank-you cards need to be delivered to the museum BEFORE 11 a.m. Nov. 10. Thank you!
