Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 21, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Jerome Lara Fernandez of Odessa, Texas.

Fernandez, 49, passed away Sunday, Nov. 12, 2017, in Odessa.

Fr. Jorge S. Vargas will officiate the services, with interment to follow at Twin Oaks Memorial Park.

A rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Grace. A meal will follow interment in the Our Lady of Grace Parish Hall.

Jerome, also known as “Muscles,” was born April 25, 1968, in Artesia, the son of Tony Fernandez Jr. and Elia Lara Fernandez.

Survivors include three daughters; two grandsons; one granddaughter; sisters Delma L. Fernandez and husband Manuel Romero of Odessa, Naomi R. Fernandez of Hobbs, and Lori Fernandez Parrish and Melissa D. Madrid, both of Artesia; brothers James L. Fernandez of Odessa and Eddie O. Fernandez and wife Venus of Artesia; stepmother Angie O. Fernandez of Artesia; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Elia Lara Fernandez, and brother Tony L. Fernandez III.

Arrangements and cremation are under the direction of Acres West Funeral Chapel of Odessa.

Jerome was a loving father, son, brother and uncle.
