Johnny Lopez

Services are scheduled for 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 22, at Terpening & Son Chapel for Johnny J. Lopez of Artesia.

Lopez, 62, passed away Saturday, March 18, 2017, at his home.

Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Wednesday at Terpening & Son Mortuary.
Johnny was born June 11, 1954, in Artesia, the son of Anacleto S. and Luciana (Delgado) Lopez. He was a lifelong resident of Artesia.

He was a driller in the oilfield and enjoyed fishing, hunting, collecting guns, and spending time with his grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Lopez, of Albuquerque; sons Chris Hatfield of California and Rusty Hatfield of Washington; daughter Lindsey Betancourt of Carlsbad; sisters Frances Tesillo and Helen Lopez, both of Artesia, and Jane Lopez of San Antonio, Texas; grandchildren Hailey, Hope, Autumn, Cristine and Dakota Jackson; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Luis Lopez.
