A private family graveside service is scheduled for Laura Savoie Akins Fanning of Artesia.
Fanning, 84, passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2020, at home with family by her side.
She was born Jan. 29, 1936, in Artesia to Fred and Nita Savoie.
On Nov. 13, 1954, she married Gary Akins in Artesia. He preceded her in death in August 1976. Laura later married Martin Fanning on May 8, 1984, in Artesia.
Survivors include her husband, Martin Fanning; daughter Barbara Gwynne and husband Gary; son Mike Akins; daughter Lea Mustacchio and husband Mark; brothers Bill Savoie and wife Jan, and Gene Savoie and wife Darlene; grandchildren Lanetta Callaway, Crystal Wood, Brenna Goss, Shawna Bell, Charlton Clark, Daniel Akins and Rachel Akins; 11 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Nita Savoie; husband Gary Akins; son Ricki Akins; and brothers Henry, Fred, Roy, Paul and Joe Savoie.
