Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 13, at West Main Baptist Church for Martha Ann Patterson.

Patterson, 78, passed away Thursday, Jan. 11, 2020, at Good Life Senior Living.

Pastor Jason Kraft will officiate the services, with interment to follow at Twin Oaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Steve and Rod Shaw, Jim Jorren, Frank Schmitt, Charlton Clark and Konner Gwynne. Honorary pallbearers are Steve Clark, Matthew and Troy Patterson, the Artesia High School Class of 1959, and the employees of Patterson Welding Works.

Visitation for family and friends will be held from 2-4:30 p.m. today at Terpening & Son Chapel.

Martha was born April 26, 1941, in West Helena, Ark., the daughter of Ernest E. and Edna L. (Corley) Warren.

On Feb. 1, 1958, she married Gary F. Gwynne of Artesia, and the couple had three sons.

Following his death, she met Edward E. Patterson, and the two were married Oct. 17, 1975.

Martha and Ed owned and operated Patterson Welding Works. Martha had an entrepreneurial spirit. She owned and operated at various times The Gingerbread House Gift Shop, MAP Real Estate, and the Kiddie Kottage Daycare Center.

Martha had numerous hobbies. She loved crocheting, needlepoint, scrapbooking and card making. She was a collector at heart, and one of her greatest collections is original Cabbage Patch Kids. Martha loved music, and you would often find her attending performances at the local Ocotillo Performing Arts Center. She enjoyed traveling and spending time at their cabin in Ruidoso.

She was a member of the Artesia Desk & Derrick Club, the AHS Class of 1959, Artesia Needlepoint Guild, Artesia Board of Realtors, and the Artesia Chamber of Commerce.

Survivors include sons Gary Gwynne and wife Barbara, and Rusty Gwynne and wife Nita; daughter-in-law Maxine Davis; grandchildren Christi Araujo and husband Michael, Cami Lopez and husband Pete, Mckinah, Kirstan and Konner Gwynne, Lanetta Callaway, Brenna Goss, and Charlton Clark; greatgrandchildren Michael, Mia and Alyssa Araujo, Julianne Molina, Shayla, Dayson Goss and Ricki Dew, and Bailey and Emily Callaway; great-greatgrandchildren Daxxtyn Canales and Landyn Araujo; sisters Carolyn Edwards, Marilyn Shaw and Nancy Jorren; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins; and many special friends.

She was preceded in death by husband Edward E. Patterson; husband Gary F. Gwynne; son Ray Gwynne; stepdaughter Christy Patterson; and parents Ernie and Louise Warren.
